LIQAL is a company that installs turnkey gas systems for its customers. They were asked to design and implement several truck fueling stations in Belgium. This turnkey solution is suitable for heavy-duty trucks. Jorg Raven, founder and CEO of the young and ambitious company, explains why demand for alternative fuels other than diesel is increasing.
“LNG, or liquefied natural gas, is considered a cleaner and cheaper alternative to diesel. It is particularly interesting for heavy road transport. More and more manufacturers are delivering trucks that run on this fuel directly from the factory. The expectation is that demand for LNG will rise in the near future, and more fueling stations will consider offering it.”
The Right Approach
For the latest project, VMB Automation was asked to handle the control system and supply the associated hardware. VMB took care of the cabinet layout, construction, and installation. They also supplied valves and sensors and pulled the necessary wiring. Since the software was provided by LIQAL’s programmers, it was crucial that VMB understood exactly how the control system worked. “By listening carefully, they fully understood what we wanted and executed the job correctly.”

LIQAL chose VMB because other companies in their network had positive experiences with them. Raven also looks back on the collaboration with satisfaction: “Despite complex technologies such as large pressure differences and various safety protocols, VMB achieved great results in a short time. Our client is also pleased, especially since this was the first time we worked together in this way. The collaboration was very successful, and we intend to involve VMB again in similar projects.”
