Ensure North American compliance with UL-certified solutions.

Why UL Certification?

Control panels for the U.S. market must be UL-certified, as this is both a legal and practical requirement for safe operation in North America. The key reasons include:

  1. Legal Requirements (NEC & OSHA)
    – In the United States, the National Electrical Code (NEC) mandates that electrical installations comply with recognised safety standards.
    – UL 508A is the standard for industrial control panels.
    – The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires products to be tested by an accredited certification body such as UL or ETL.
  2. Insurance & Liability
    – Without UL certification, insurers may deny liability in the event of damage or fire.
    – Many clients demand UL certification to mitigate legal risks.
  3. Acceptance by Local Inspectors (AHJ)
    – The Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ, e.g. fire department or building inspector) must approve the installation.
    – Without a UL label, inspections may refuse or halt the project.
  4. Trust & Market Access
    – UL certification demonstrates that a control panel meets strict safety and construction standards.
    – It opens the door to the U.S. market, particularly for OEMs and machine builders who prioritise quality and compliance.
